Five parishes, and what floods in each.

East Baton Rouge

Flash flooding where the drainage cannot keep up.

Much of the parish floods from rainfall rather than river, which means it happens fast and in places that are not on a flood map. Homes that took water in 2016 were overwhelmingly outside the designated zones.

Livingston

The parish that took the worst of 2016.

Denham Springs and the surrounding area saw catastrophic flooding in August 2016 and a great many homes here have been through the full restoration cycle once already. Owners here tend to know exactly what they are asking us about.

Ascension

Fast growth on low ground.

Rapid subdivision development on land that historically drained slowly. Newer builds are elevated to current standards, but the older stock between them is not, and the two sit on the same street.

Iberville

River parish, and the humidity that comes with it.

Proximity to the Mississippi keeps ambient humidity high year round, which lengthens every structural dry we do here. We size dehumidification for this parish differently, and we say so in the drying plan.

West Baton Rouge

Smaller parish, longer response window.

We cover it fully, but honestly: after a regional event our arrival times here run longer than they do east of the river. We will tell you your real position rather than quote you the average.
