The test patch
Before we quote a room we clean a small area and leave the boundary visible. It shows you exactly what is recoverable and what is not, and it stops the conversation being an argument about opinions.
Occasionally the patch shows that cleaning will not get there and the surface has to be sealed or replaced. It is better to know that on day one than after you have paid for cleaning that could not work.
